Music is the sounds that are sung by voices or played on musical instruments. It’s art or skill of creating or performing music. Music is written or printed symbols showing how music should be played and sung. It is the vocal, instrumental, mechanical, melodic, and sounds with rhythm. Now that we have an understanding on music we must learn about its origin. Often at times we assume that something was created without a beginning process. For music the beginning started with sound in other words (Audio). This informative article will explore audio and different types. What is audio? Audio is sound, especially when recorded, transmitted, or reproduced. In addition, audio is a combining form used in words, with the meaning: “sound within the range of human hearing.” Going further in detail audio signals have frequencies in range of 20,000 Hz, which is the limits of human hearing. Digital correlates with audio for it contains different information such as speech & music. They can both be stored on audio file giving the user luxury to save and listen to it at their convenience. This audio file is referred to as MP3. There are different functions of audio such as Digital audio, Audio media, and Audio visual. Digital audio is technology that is specifically used for sound recording and reproduction. In the digital audio system, the microphone converts sound to an electrical signal, then an analog to digital converter (ADC). When digital audio technology advanced in the 1970’s, it replaced other areas, which was (analog audio technology and telecommunications). Digital audio systems include storage, processing, and transmission components. Audio-Visual, also known as (AV) means to possess a sound and visual component. This entails films, television programs, and theater productions. Most people who provide audio visual services will offer web streaming, video conferencing, and live broadcasting. Audio Media is more of a reference to analog tape cassettes and digital cd’s to computer files containing audio in digital formats.
